Fiesta Earings


I'm from San Antonio, Texas, where we LOVE to party.  Today is the first day of our biggest celebration of the year, FIESTA SAN ANTONIO.  Everyone wears bright colors and especially flowers, so here's a little quickie just in time for Fiesta!

Materials:

  • Brightly colored sock yarn (I used Loops and Threads Luxury sock yarn in Balloon)
  • Size 2 or C hook
  • Pony beads, or colored bells

Earrings
Make 2

Form a magic circle with a long tail (10 inches)
Rnd 1: Ch 1, 12 scs in circle, sl st in first sc.

Rnd 2:  Ch 9, sl st in 3rd ch from hook, forming a small circle, Ch 2, turn, 2 dcs in circle, ch 2,  sl st in circle, *ch 2, 2 dcs in circle, ch 2, sl st in circle* 4 times, ch 5, sl st in next st of 12 sc ring.

Rnd 3: Ch 20, sl st in 3rd ch from hook, forming a small circle, Ch 2, turn, 2 dcs in circle, ch 2,  sl st in circle, *ch 2, 2 dcs in circle, ch 2, sl st in circle* 4 times, ch 12,  sl st in same st of ch 20 in 12 sc ring.

Rnd 4: Ch 14, sl st in 3rd ch from hook, forming a small circle, Ch 2, turn, 2 dcs in circle, ch 2,  sl st in circle, *ch 2, 2 dcs in circle, ch 2, sl st in circle* 4 times, ch 8, sl st in next st of 12 sc ring.

Rnd 5:  Ch 28, sl st in 3rd ch from hook, forming a small circle, Ch 2, turn, 2 dcs in circle, ch 2,  sl st in circle, *ch 2, 2 dcs in circle, ch 2, sl st in circle* 4 times, ch 18, sl st in same st of ch 28 in 12 sc ring. Fasten off, leaving a long tail (10 inches). Weave tails through long chs to hold them together.

Tack down small flower ch in front.

Tack down the tails into the 12 sc circle leaving long loops.

Cut ends of loops and let hang.  Tie on colorful beads or bells.


Attach an earring loop and you're ready to go!
